End of Summer Picnic

 

Welcome to the Hunky Host. We've made this simple for you. Any domestically challenged diva can follow along with our Hunky Host, and before you can say satin sheets, your date night will be aching for another chapter. Summer is coming to a close, what better way than to have that last picnic with someone special before the fall weather hits. This week we're suggesting you get that temptress of yours outdoors, and share your spread that will delight any discerning taste bud. We're talking about meats that melt in your mouth, cheeses that tingle on your tongue, and fruits by the handful to make you smile with every naughty bite. Enjoy!

Let's start out with a Fab Grocery List! Things that make you go VA VA VOOM!
Perfectly Plump Grapes
Two of Your Favorite Cheeses, Maybe a soft Brie and a hard Peppercorn Jack
Long, Fresh Baguette
Nice Thick Salami and Delicate Prosciutto
1 Firm Apple, Perhaps a Fuji or a Pink Lady
Sweet Honey
Handful of Nuts (Walnuts)
Fresh Figs
Bacon (We Suggest Maple Bacon)
1 Delightful Bottle of White Wine (A Chardonnay or maybe a crisp Pinot Grigio would suit this palette)

Since this is a picnic, we chose a wooden cutting board to arrange our spread on. Our Hunk displayed the cheeses, salami and prosciutto in a pattern on the block. Be creative here, it's called artistic license, and we're all about being seductive!



Arrange the grapes and the apples as a sweet border. Next, take that fresh baguette and slice it up into nice bite size pieces. Line them up on both sides of the tray so there's plenty to go around. We encourage tasting... a good host will always make sure everything is just right!



Next, slice the apple and sprinkle a handful of walnuts alongside. Nuts make everything sexy! Open the honey and generously drizzle some over the apple slices and walnuts. You can never go wrong with drizzling... Or with honey... These will pair wonderfully with some cheese on the perfectly sliced baguette.

Onto the figs! If you've never had figs, you're in for a treat. These sweet beauties are the perfect end to a summer palette pleaser. Cut these babies in half, and as an extra special delight, cut some of the brie into small squares and place one in the center of each fig.



Then take that ridiculously tasty bacon, a half of slice will do, and firmly wrap the fig all the way around. Fire up the grill (hey, it's still summer) and let those exquisitely plump figs caramelize while the bacon crisps. Sizzling good times!


This is magic right here! Once they are done, you're ready for your picnic!

Grab your charcuterie platter with all the beautiful fruits and cheeses and bread and salami that you so seductively placed. More importantly, grab your sweetie, that cold bottle of wine, a pair of wine glasses, and a blanket for 2. Hit the backyard, beach, park,  or even the local vista point at dusk. You'll be grinning from ear to ear and filled with joie de vivre as you and your honey enjoy a provacatively peaceful afternoon melting together in an amorous moment.
